How to enter the HOT BIRD™ TV Awards?

- If you are a thematic channel broadcasting on Eutelsat satellites across Europe, the Mediterranean Basin, Africa and the Middle East, you are then eligible to enter

- Entrance is free of charge

- There is no limitation to the number of eligible channels each network can enter

- Select your category

- Complete the online registration form in full. Once returned to the HOT BIRD™ TV Awards team, you will receive an e-mail with your log-in username and password. Please, keep your username and password details: you may need to use them to amend information submitted.

- If you are a channel that entered in 2008 or 2009, you will receive the password and username so that you can access the information previously submitted and amend or refresh it.

- Prepare the video material:

• A DVD containing maximum 2 minutes of your channel’s own production material (if relevant). Language required: English (dubbed or subtitled)*
• A DVD of a flagship programme shown by your channel since September 2009. Language required: English (dubbed or subtitled)**
• A DVD of your Best Programme in your schedule. Language required: English (dubbed or subtitled)

These videos will be for internal use, viewed by the jury as part of the evaluation material.

• If your channel is encrypted, we must receive the relevant smartcard and decoder so it can be viewed live by the jury. All equipment will be returned after the jury meeting.

What happens next?

Material will be evaluated by the jury who will declare a shortlist of channels. This shortlist will be made public after the jury meeting.                                                                                                                                                                                                      Don’t forget that both non-shortlisted and shortlisted channels have the opportunity to win the People’s Choice Award! All winning channels will be announced at the prize-giving ceremony on 19 November 2010.

* A Blu-ray support is recommended for all channels and mandatory for HD channels

** If your Flagship programme is also your Best programme, you only need to submit one DVD
